1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Nyayabodh ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

2. Platform Description

Nyayabodh is a technology platform that provides AI-powered legal information tools and connects users with advocates who have declared a State Bar Council enrolment number. The Platform does not verify that number against any Bar Council roll — see 4.3. It is an intermediary under Section 2(1)(w) of the IT Act, 2000 and operates in compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

4.1 Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.

4.2 Roles

• Clients: Individuals or entities seeking legal information or services.
• Lawyers: Advocates enrolled with a State Bar Council under the Advocates Act, 1961. A reviewer accepts or refuses the enrolment number an advocate declares before the profile is listed; see 4.3 for what that check is and is not.
• Administrators: Platform staff managing operations and compliance.

4.3 What the enrolment check is, and is not

An advocate declares their State Bar Council enrolment number, and a Nyayabodh reviewer accepts or refuses it before the profile is listed. That is the whole of it. No State Bar Council publishes a register we can query, so we do not check the number against a roll, and nothing on this Platform should be read as saying we do. Check the enrolment number with the advocate's State Bar Council yourself before you instruct them. Nyayabodh does not assess an advocate's ability and does not guarantee the quality or outcome of legal services.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
• Submit false or misleading information, including fabricated case facts to the AI assistant
• Impersonate a legal professional or misuse AI-generated content as formal legal advice
• Attempt to circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access restrictions
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute Platform content without authorization
• Harass, defame, or post objectionable content in the Community Q&A section
• Upload malicious files, malware, or content that violates intellectual property rights

6. Consultations and Payments

• Consultation fees are set by lawyers. Nyayabodh acts as a facilitator, not a party to the lawyer-client relationship.
• The Platform does not collect, hold, or route the consultation fee. It is paid directly to the advocate on the terms the two of you agree, and refunds of it are a matter between you and the advocate. Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway, processes only the Platform's own flat fees — certified exports and memberships — and refunds of those are governed by these Terms and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
• Lawyer-client privilege (professional communications under Section 132 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, which replaced Section 126 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 with effect from 1 July 2024) applies to consultations conducted through the Platform and is respected by Nyayabodh.

7. Intellectual Property

• Platform code, design, branding, and proprietary AI models are owned byNslawgic Technologies.
• Legal content sourced from public records (Indian Kanoon, India Code) remains in the public domain.
• AI-generated drafts are provided as templates. You retain ownership of content you create using these templates after modification.
• User-submitted content in Community Q&A is licensed to Nslawgic Technologies for display on the Platform.

8. Content Moderation

As an intermediary under IT Act, 2000, Nslawgic Technologies complies with Rule 3 of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021:

• Community Q&A content is moderated. Users can report content that violates guidelines.
• We will remove content upon receiving a valid court order or directive from an authorized government agency.
• Reported content is acted upon within 36 hours of receipt.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law:

• Nslawgic Technologies is not liable for any decisions made based on AI-generated information.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of legal information provided by AI tools.
• Our total liability for any claims arising from Platform use shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the preceding 12 months.
• We are not liable for the quality or outcome of legal services provided by lawyers listed on the Platform.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through:

1. Mediation: Good-faith mediation for 30 days from the date of dispute.
2. Arbitration: If mediation fails, binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
3. Jurisdiction: Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

11. Grievance Redressal

In compliance with Rule 3(2) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021:

Resolution Timeline: Acknowledgement within 48 hours; resolution within 30 days of receipt, the window set by the DPDP Act, 2023.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases, but data retention obligations under applicable law continue as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms with 30 days' notice via email and in-app notification. Material changes require renewed consent. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
